What is a Comprehensive Psychological Evaluation?

This is a set of assessment procedures used the obtain information about an individuals unique intellectual, personality, and emotional functioning. This information helps The Unlimited Potential Foundation determine therapeutic goals and treatment plans.

Within a week or two of a participant’s arrival, he or she will be administered a comprehensive psychosocial evaluation by Dr. James R. Stewart, The UP Foundation’s clinical psychologist. During this process, the new participant is screened for a variety of substance use and mental health disorders. This information is confidential, and is collected for two reasons. The first is to help counselors and Certified Peer Recovery Specialists provide accurate services to the new participant. The second is research protocol. The information collected during the psychosocial evaluation is analyzed and studied so that The UP Foundation can improve its current services and treat future participants more effectively.
