September is National Recovery month. To celebrate, we are hosting a treasure hunt with the theme:

There is Hope. There is Healing.

There is Recovery!

We’ve hidden 100 rocks with QR codes in various locations around the city of Lynchburg. Each QR code includes a link revealing information. Most of the rocks have prizes connected to them such as gift cards, vouchers, or merchandise. Two rocks (the gold and silver) will have large prizes worth more than $250 each. The person who collects the most rocks will be given the title of “Rock Star” and receive the grand prize valued at $700 or more! So get out there! Let’s get Rockin’!

General Rules

Are you ready to ROCK?

These are the Official Rules for the Rockin’ With Recovery Treasure Hunt. In celebration of National Recovery Month, we are hosting a contest that begins on September 1, 2023 and ends on September 29, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. EST. There is no purchase necessary to participate or to win.

Eligibility

The Rockin’ With Recovery Treasure Hunt is open to all residents located in Central Virginia including localities of Lynchburg, Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell County. All entrants under 18 must have parental/guardian consent to participate.

How to Play

Congratulations - you may have won a prize! If you’ve located this rock or any Treasure Hunt rocks during the month of September 2023, we ask that you 

  1. Please take a picture of you and the rock and where you found it, and send it to robin@upwithrecovery.org

  2. Collect your potential prize by bringing your rock(s) to:

We are available Monday through Friday between 9am-5pm. 

3. We will keep track of each rock that’s returned, and the winner will be announced on Monday, October 2, 2023.


There are special prizes associated with most rocks in this Treasure Hunt. In order to receive your prize, the rock must be returned to The UP Foundation office. There are special prizes linked to the gold and silver rocks. The grand prize “Rock Star” Award will be given to the person who finds the most rocks!

Entry Deadline

Deadline to return all rocks is September 29 at 5:00 pm EST.

Special Prizes

  • “Rockstar” Award: 75in LG 4k UHD smart tv

  • Gold Rock Award:       XBOX series X                    

  • Silver Rock Award:     $250 Walmart Gift Card      

  • Other Prizes: Special store, restaurant, and cash gift cards      

Prize Acceptance

All federal state and local laws and regulations apply. Prior to or at the time of delivery of the prize, the potential winner/parent or guardian must execute an Affidavit of Eligibility Form, a Prize Acceptance Form, and a Release of Liability Form. Failure to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility / Prize Acceptance Form / Release of Liability forms may result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner, unless prohibited by law. Failure to accept delivery of the prize will constitute forfeiture of such prize. If the potential winner is not in compliance with these Official Rules or if The UP Foundation is unable to contact a selected winner within a two-week time period following the winner’s selection, the prize will be forfeited and, at The UP Foundation’s discretion, an alternate winner will be selected. In consideration of being awarded the prize, winner/parent or guardian hereby agrees and consents, without further authorization, compensation, or remuneration of any kind, to the use of the winner’s name, voice, picture, and/or likeness in any and all advertising, promotions and other publicity conducted by The UP Foundation.

Indemnity

Entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and holds harmless and indemnifies The UP Foundation and each of their directors, officers, employees, or agents, against any and all liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), with respect to or arising from either the entrant’s participation or the receipt or use of the prizes awarded in this Contest.
